ENERGY SAVINGS TIPS
Use a Programmable Thermostat – Automatically control the temperature in your home to the times you are there.  With a programmable thermostat, effortlessly you can reduce your energy bills as much as 10% without sacrificing comfort.  All of our trucks are stocked with ENERGY STAR Thermostats and our Certified Technicians are prepared to change yours out today to start saving.  Many utility companies are currently offering rebates to have one of these thermostats installed.  Ask your technician or customer service rep if your home qualifies for this incentive.

Check Your Filter – A standard filter should be checked once a month.  Use a calendar to help you remember this important step.  A dirty filter can starve your system of air causing poor performance, higher utility bills, and premature equipment failure.  If changing a filter is becoming a burden, before letting it damage your system and affect your comfort, contact one of our Comfort Guys to see if a Media System can be installed in your home.  Media systems have a large pleated cartridge that filter out up to 95% of allergy-aggravating particles in your home and on average only need to be replaced once a year.  The average 1” filter in most homes only blocks 15 %.  For complete hassle free performance, a media replacement can be added to a service agreement where our technician will change the cartridge and remove the dirty one during your visit.

Hot Water Heater – Turning down the temperature dial on your water heater could save you up to 4 % of your utility bill.  If your are leaving your home for an extended period of a week or more, set your dial to “ VACATION “ for maximum efficiency.

Dryer Vent – Blocked vents cause your dryer to run longer and use more energy.  Clean the outside grille of your vent regularly and look to see if lint blockage is forming.   Standing lint is extremely flammable and can be a fire hazard.  Our Duct Cleaning crew has the latest and most advanced equipment to clean even the toughest dryer vents.  Flexible vents are more susceptible to forming standing lint.  If you have a flexible vent, contact our estimate department to change your venting to a hard pipe system.

Air Conditioner – Keep your outdoor unit free from debris.  Grass clippings and pollen can cause an A/C system to run harder using more energy and being less effective.  Call our Service Department for a full cleaning and tune up to insure maximum efficiency and minimal chance for break down.
